A world-class luxury hospitality development is taking shape in Kampala, with a five-star twin-tower property along Ggaba Road in Nsambya nearing completion ahead of its official opening under the Marriott brand.

The project, which combines a luxury hotel and executive apartments, is expected to become one of Uganda’s most high-end hospitality landmarks, targeting business travellers, diplomats, and ultra-high-net-worth visitors.

The team was received by businessman Ponsiano Ngabirano, the Chairman of the project and founder of Capital Shoppers, who led officials through the twin-tower complex currently in its final stages of construction.

Speaking after the inspection, Kaggwa praised the progress of the development, describing it as a flagship private-sector investment aligned with government priorities.

“This is one of the projects that Government is supporting, and we are happy with the progress already registered,” he said.

He added that the project aligns with government policy to promote internationally branded five-star hotels as part of efforts to attract high-spending tourists and strengthen Uganda’s position in the global hospitality market.

“Part of Government policy is to support branded five-star international-standard hotels to attract ultra-rich tourists,” he said, noting that tourism remains a key pillar under the country’s ATMS strategy aimed at expanding economic growth sectors.

According to officials, Uganda is targeting to double tourist arrivals and increase tourism revenue through improved infrastructure, branding, and premium hospitality offerings.

The development will feature luxury hotel rooms, executive suites, and serviced apartments designed for long-stay guests and high-end clientele.

Marriott’s management team is already on-site overseeing final preparations as the property moves closer to launch.

Once opened, the Nsambya facility is expected to significantly raise the standard of luxury hospitality in Kampala and position the city more competitively as a destination for regional conferences, business tourism, and upscale leisure travel.

With its modern architecture and international branding, the project is being positioned as one of the most significant private hospitality investments in Uganda’s recent history.
